Geospatial Datasets

Over the last 10 years Landmark has built, managed and maintained one of the largest geographic information databases in Europe. This database now contains:
  • 150 datasets containing over 15 million accurately geocoded features sourced from nearly 1,000 individual suppliers
  • nearly 1 million historical map images
  • national coverage of Great Britain from both Land-Line® & MasterMap®
Many of these datasets can be sold to Government organisations and Local Authorities to fulfil bespoke data requirements. The data can be incorporated into any standard GIS for overlaying onto modern day mapping and other datasets.

Datasets which might be of particular interest are:

  • Land Use Constraints Data
Landmark, in conjunction with an urban and regional planning consultant, has developed a standardised Land Use Constraints dataset. This dataset covers the whole of Great Britain and is updated on a regular basis.
  • Planning Applications
This dataset also covers the whole of Great Britain and contains both historical planning applications, made since 1997, and current applications, which are updated on a weekly basis.
  • Petrol Station Location & Facilities Data
Petrol station location and facilities data for the whole of the UK. This data, initially collected and verified by regular on-site visits, includes details of the size of the site, number of pumps, ownership and many other facts such as whether or not there is a car wash and whether or not take-away food is offered. The data has been maintained and consistently updated since 1993. The site location is positioned to within one metre accuracy and can be easily overlaid on all Ordnance Survey digital mapping as used by Local Authorities throughout the UK.
  • Historical Data
Landmark's Historical data is currently being used in over 350 local authorities throughout Great Britain in Environmental Health, eGovernment, Planning, Technical Services, Highways and Education departments. The data is also an invaluable resource of schools, local studies groups, museums and libraries and has been used for large-scale projects by HMLR, Registers of Scotland, CCW, English Heritage and DEFRA.
